Comedian Sai D Performing in HfHR's "Celebration of Hope," Dec 12th 2020

Stand-up comedian — Sai D — who will be making us laugh on Saturday night at our “Celebration of Hope,” describes himself as a

“mediocre human (co-median) from Chennai, India, who likes puns, paraprodoskians, non sequitirs and other words he can neither spell nor pronounce. When he's not watching cricket, he prefers to be out entertaining crowds at local venues and all over on the internet with his wordplay.”

An Interview With Sai D

We are thrilled that you are supporting Hindus for Human Rights. Why do you see our organization as important?

I'm very pleased to have discovered an organization that provides a platform for progressive Hindu voices in the fight for minority rights and against religious fundamentalism and discrimination. HfHR is a much needed platform to come together as a community and share our learnings with other communities and lend our support in this fight.

What are your biggest concerns when it comes to India?

I take great pride in being from a nation that celebrates unity in diversity and respects people of all cultural and religious backgrounds. One of my biggest concerns is that the idea of India as a secular, peace-loving nation will be under threat if we stand by and allow Hindu nationalism to take hold.
