Hindus for Human Rights calls on the Indian government to respect the farmers' fundamental rights and engage in meaningful dialogue to address their grievances.

We support Indian farmers’ demands to pass a law guaranteeing minimum prices for 23 crops. We firmly believe that such legislation is essential for safeguarding the livelihoods of millions of agricultural workers and their families, and for promoting social justice and equity in Indian society.

Furthermore, we support the farmers’ rejection of the government's proposal and their unwavering resolve to continue their march to New Delhi. This rejection underscores the farmers' legitimate demands for guaranteed crop prices and economic security, which are fundamental to their livelihoods and well-being.

We also call on Indian police forces outside Delhi to de-escalate their brutal tactics against protesting farmers. The use of deadly force and heavy-handed tactics, such as barricading of highways and the deployment of security forces, only serve to obstruct the farmers' right to peaceful assembly and expression. The recent tragic death of Subhkaran Singh, a 21-year-old farmer, during clashes between protesting farmers and security forces serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for dialogue and resolution. Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones, and we stand with all those who have been affected by this devastating loss.

As Hindus, we draw inspiration from the principles of ahimsa (non-violence) and dharma (righteousness).We reiterate our unwavering support for the farmers' non-violent resistance movement and their struggle for economic justice, dignity, and human rights. We stand united with them in their quest for a more just and equitable society for all.
