Urge your Representatives to Sponsor H.R. 8501 |
Our friends at Emgage Action are currently organizing to get Congressional support for Rep. Sarah Jacobs's bill to stop the sale of weapons to the United Arab Emirates.
Currently, the UAE is arming one of the sides in the Sudan civil war, which has led to a massive humanitarian catastrophe in the country, with at least 15,000 people killed, 8.2 million displaced, 24.8 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, and millions facing famine.
One of the first steps to stop the spiralling crisis is to stop the fighting, and that can only happen if the UAE stops arming one side of the conflict, which is why Rep. Jacobs's bill is so important. We sincerely hope you will sign the letter below and contact your representatives for change. |

HfHR joins other organizations in calling on Congress to support four joint resolutions of disapproval, introduced by Senators Sanders, Welch, and Merkley, aimed at halting specific U.S. arms sales to Israel. These resolutions target the suspension of weapons transfers which have been used in attacks that have caused thousands of civilian casualties in Gaza, including aid workers and journalists. The resolutions seek to address the severe humanitarian crisis and violations of international law in Gaza, urging the U.S. to take a stand for human rights and accountability.
