HfHR is Halfway to Being Able to Hire a Full-time Advocacy Director; Help Us Reach Our Goal!
Dear HfHR Community and Supporters,
Hindus for Human Rights had our year-end fundraiser on December 12th. Our beautiful “Celebration of Hope” —fabulously emceed by our board member Sravya Tadepalli—brought together more than 60 supporters, and brought us $2,000 closer to our goal of hiring a full-time Advocacy Director in Washington, DC.
We are grateful to everyone who made the event such a success:
— our generous guests that night;
— to Sravya, for the great job she did as emcee and her leadership in organizing the event;
— to HfHR board member Vijay, Aminah Ahmed of Indian American Muslim Council and Roja Singh of Dalit Solidarity Forum, for their powerful messages; and
— to our talented performers that night, Sai D, Ava Sophia, Sattriya Dance Company, Rithvik Raja and Kasha Patel.
Apart from our fundraiser, we received several generous gifts from individual donors. In total, we have raised $45,000 towards our goal. Our profuse thanks to everyone who has supported us.
We have a golden opportunity with a Biden-Harris administration to make sure that there are progressive and inclusive Hindu opinions and positions countering the Hindutva-aligned Hindu advocacy which dominates political spaces and conversations in the political arena. We can only do this with a full time professional staff person focused on advocacy.
We need to raise $100,000 by year-end in order to announce the position.
We hope you will all help us reach this goal. Donate here!
With gratitude and a sincere pledge to continue to speak Truth To Power, and challenge bigotry and oppression wherever we encounter it,
