The Power of Law

Tonight, the Hindu American Foundation is holding a gala called "How to Sue Your Haters: The Power of Law," celebrating their lawsuit against our co-founders for speaking out about Hindu nationalism. We believe in the #PowerOfLaw too, so we asked some of our friends to share what the power of law means to them.

We asked Meg Barnette, board member of Women for Afghan Women, to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to her.

We asked Indian human rights lawyer and author Nandita Haksar to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to her.

We asked Aman Wadud, Indian human rights lawyer and Fulbright Fellow at the The University of Texas School of Law, to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to him.

We asked Arjun Sethi, a community activist, civil rights lawyer, and professor, to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to him.

We asked Harsh Mander, Indian human rights and peace activist and founder of Karwan-e-Mohabbat, to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to him.

We asked John Rushing, managing partner at Rushing McCarl LLP, to share what the #PowerOfLaw means to him. Rushing McCarl offered an amicus brief on behalf of the Ambedkar International Center, HfHR, and many other signatories in the landmark Cisco caste discrimination case.
