Dear Friend,

October has proved to be a rollercoaster of a month. We celebrated a significant achievement with the inauguration of our UK chapter, a pivotal advancement for our organization. Simultaneously, the heartbreaking events unfolding in the Middle East required our urgent attention and participation in the international call for an immediate ceasefire, underscoring our commitment to the global movement for peace. The situation in South Asia was also tumultuous ranging from the terrible earthquakes in Afghanistan, to the alarming raids on the offices of Newsclick in India, the latest step in media suppression in the country.  Bringing this very close to home, our own Twitter account in India was unexpectedly banned following a 'legal demand' from the government. This incident only strengthened our resolve to continue our advocacy for human rights and freedom of expression as we challenge this ban in the Indian courts.

In the midst of these trials, we found solace and strength in our traditions, immersing ourselves in the celebrations of Navratri and Diwali. These festivities reminded us of our commitment to promoting peace, human rights, and the triumph of good over evil. We recognize that the struggle is a vital part of our journey towards light and truth, inspiring us to persist in our advocacy and uphold our vision for a just world.

In unity and purpose,

The Team at HfHR

This gathering transcended international boundaries, sparking a beacon of hope and solidarity. Discover more about this pivotal moment and its profound impact by reading the full story here.
BJP Bans Our Twitter Account in India

Hindus for Human Rights  and our allies at the Indian American Muslim Council are currently facing challenges as our Twitter account has been withheld in India due to a legal demand from the Government of India. This incident is part of the Modi regime's broader crackdown on dissent, as seen in the recent raid on Newsclick’s offices and the decade-old charges against activist Arundhati Roy.

Despite this setback, our determination to uphold our voice in India advocating for human rights remains unwavering and we are pursuing a legal challenge to this ban.

Call Congress for a Ceasefire now!

We are deeply saddened by the violence in Israel and Palestine, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries. Guided by 'Ahimsa'—the Hindu principle of non-violence in deeds, words, and thoughts—we find the ongoing conflict tragic and unacceptable.  We join with so many of our allies and call for an immediate ceasefire and immediate release of the hostages. Let us come together to foster a world where peace prevails, honoring the sanctity of life and the teachings of non-violence that lie at the heart of our shared humanity. Read our Statement here.

Jewish Voice for Peace is spearheading a campaign emphasizing the urgent need for the U.S. to de-escalate and prevent further loss of life, rather than escalating the situation by sending more weapons to Israel. Learn more and take action here.
