Join Us For an Interfaith Prayer Vigil for the Kisiya Family
|
Our Executive Director Sunita Viswanath will be speaking at an interfaith prayer vigil for Al-Makhrour and the Kisiya family on Sunday, September 29th.
The Kisiya family are Palestinian Christians who were thrown off their land in Bethlehem, Palestine by settlers backed by Israeli soldiers. They lost their 5000 sq meter plot, which has been their home for several generations.
Since their displacement and ongoing resistance a global interfaith solidarity movement has emerged to support the Kisiya family and the entire Al-Makhrour valley in their fight against erasure and theft. The movement, Save Al-Makhrour, is committed to nonviolence, interfaith unity, and human rights. |
Voices from the West Bank: |
Stories of Resistance and Protection |
Join us for an enlightening and powerful speaking event featuring Amira Musallam, Palestinian Christian peace advocate, and Mel Duncan, Co-Founder of Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP). The discussion will also focus on the critical civilian protection needs in the Occupied Territories and offer insight into strategies for support and intervention.
The event will conclude with a Q&A session, offering the audience an opportunity to engage with the speakers, ask questions, learn more about the realities on the ground in Palestine, and discuss next steps. |
Our UK Director Asks, "Politics and Religion - Do They Really Drive Change?" |
Our UK Director Rajiv Sinha will be speaking about how he advocates for change both in his local community and internationally at Ahista Stories' South Asian sustainable fashion festival!
When? October 6th Where? Poplar Union, London, E14 6TL |
D.C. 10/7 Memorial Gathering for Israeli and Palestinian Life |
On October 7, in the midst of the Days of Awe, Jews across the country will come together in community, in heartbreak, and in grief. We will mark one year since the Hamas-led attack in which over 1,100 Israelis were killed and hundreds more were taken hostage. We will mark one year of the Israeli government’s ongoing massacres and starvation in Gaza, which has killed over 42,000 – and likely tens of thousands more – Palestinians.
Our Advisory Board member, Reverend Abhi Janamanchi, will be representing Hindus for Human Rights and speaking on our behalf as we mourn the loss of life that has occurred in the past year, and continue to fight for a future of freedom, liberation, and safety for all. This is a family friendly, ADA accessible event. Please do not bring signs or flags. Wear white. |

In this episode, Sunita Viswanath traces early influences, her relationship to her faith, the passion and conviction that drives her advocacy, the honour and heartbreak of bearing witness to the horror unfolding in Palestine and explores what gives her the courage to pursue a path less trodden. |

Joint Press Statement Released Ahead of Quad Meeting |
|
As an organization dedicated to fighting for justice, equality, and human rights around the world, we, alongside our co-signers, called upon President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to publicly and privately raise concerns about the increasing pattern of transnational repression from the Indian government when they met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during last weekend’s Quad Summit. Biden and Albanese must make clear that any security relationship cannot come at the expense of the security and rights of Americans, Australians, and Indians.
