REMEMBERING FATHER STAN SWAMY

via Matters India

As we approach July 5th, the anniversary of his death, we remember Father Stan Swamy, a beacon of hope and resilience who stood up for the rights of marginalized communities in India. He was arrested on false charges by a corrupt and terrorizing government that denied him basic care and killed him in prison two years ago today. His life was a testament to courage, fighting tirelessly for justice even in the face of adversity. He ended up paying the ultimate price, falsely imprisoned and denied medical care. His legacy continues to inspire us to stand against religious persecution and demand equal rights for all citizens. As we mark the third anniversary of his passing, let us honor him by continuing his fight for justice.
